About

Philippa Lee Mors is the author of the Saddled with Murder cozy historical mystery series. She has a great appreciation for strong coffee and sarcastic animals—as well as Victorian and Edwardian history, cozy crime, and books of all genres.

Philippa grew up with a love of turn-of-the-century fiction by writers such as E.M. Forster and Edith Wharton. She later developed a passion for classic mystery, especially 1920's-1930's writers such as Rex Stout, Josephine Tey, and Daphne du Maurier. In her home library, you'll also find plenty of classic horse fiction from the 1940's-1960's by Walter Farley, Enid Bagnold, and Dick Francis. As for more modern authors of mystery and history, she enjoys T E Kinsey, Karen Baugh Menuhin, MC Beaton, and Connie Willis.
After graduating with a degree in English, Philippa spent much of her 20's and 30's in horse work, specializing in starting young horses under saddle. She then decided it was time to make use of her degree and began teaching English.
Philippa now teaches English and writes mysteries in the lovely Wisconsin countryside, where she lives on a small farm with her illustrator-husband, John—the man responsible for all the brilliant artwork you see in Saddled with Murder.
When she's not teaching or writing, Philippa spends her time caring for her menagerie of animals, drinking entirely too much coffee, and trying to decide whether her horses possess the ability to speak.
